The Irrelevant Work Hours II

This blog is written mostly tongue in cheek. Some points may be informative. Please provide your feedback.
If you suffer from self-irrelevancy, please seek professional advice.

Hello. What is sludge? When talking about ROWE (Results Oriented Work Environment), sludge are comments that are related to the irrelevant working hours. For example, if someone has to leave the office to pick up kids at 4pm, a coworker comment like "just putting in a half day?" would be sludge.
As someone who supervised people, I can honestly say I didn't care how many hours my reports worked. In fact, I often told them to work less hours, because work is a marathon, not a sprint. I also found when I cut out my personal overtime, it was irrelevant, because I was still able to get my work done (if not more). The time deadline focused me on results, which is what ROWE is all about.
If you are in a work environment, look for irrelevant sludge (from yourself and others) and eliminate it.

Regards,
Irrelevant
