The Irrelevant Political Sign

Hello. My 10-year-old daughter is paying attention to the Canadian federal election, which I'm very pleased about. I've always taken my right to vote very seriously.
My daughter wants to put a sign for one of the candidates on our lawn. This is something I've never done. I always have felt my vote is done in a secret place, so I don't have to flaunt it by having a sign.
Then I thought my argument and the sign are irrelevant.
Why? Because the sign, while it does indicate who you're going to vote for, doesn't necessarily mean you will vote that way. When I help a friend's candidacy two years ago, many yards had multiple signs.
Besides, if someone does question why I'm voting for this candidate, I can truthfully say my daughter wanted it, even though she can't vote. The sign really is irrelevant.
