The Irrelevant Page Playoff

Hello. Really enjoyed watching the Brier this week. However, something must be done about the Page Playoff system used in curling. The 1-2 playoff game is totally irrelevant.
What is the 1-2 playoff game? If you don't know, it's tough to explain. Let's put it this way - it's the only one game playoff game I know of where you can lose and not be eliminated. Strange huh?
How important is this game? In the Scotties Tournament of Hearts, because there were 6 teams alive after round-robin play, the 1-2 game had to be played at the same time as the 3-4 game, where the loser is gone. Guess which game TSN, the network covering the game, focused on? The 3-4 game, even though the 1-2 game had the teams with the better record.
If you want an extra playoff game to ensure more money (if there's another reason for it, please let me know), then have 5 teams make the playoffs. Give the first place team a bye. Have 5th play 4th, then winner play 3rd, then winner play 2nd, then winner play 1st.
Let's do away with irrelevant playoff games.

Regards,
Irrelevant
