The Irrelevant Fighting II

Hello. So why are there next to no finghts in NHL playoff hockey, when there are many in the regular season? After all, if it provides such a spark for players to see a teammate win a fight in a regular season game, wouldn't that spark be needed even more in the playoffs?
The answer is the fighters (goons is a more accurate term) only fight themselves. There's no way a fighter would fight a superstar. If he did, the whole bench would clear irregardless of the rules against it now.
Also, fighters can give their teams a critical penalty, which a team cannot afford in the playoffs.
Now, there's a big difference between a fighting team and a tough team. You can be a tough team that hits hard but clean and not a fighting team. Just like you can be a great major league pitcher without throwing a beanball.
Make the fighting penalties more severe. Fighting is irrelevant. Reduce it as much as possible.

Regards,
Irrelevant
