Hello. Tonight I was the Golf Channel's "Grey Goose 19th Hole". While the show's main topic was the Ryder Cup, as it should have been, there was no mention of the Fedex Cup starting tomorrow. As it should have been.
One more time from me - the Fedex Cup is irrelevant. We already know Vijay Singh will be $10+ million richer on Sunday, because he has done the unprecedented - clinch a title before the final is played.
We also know that even if Vijay wins the Tour Championship Sunday, he will not be Player of the Year. My pick order is Padraig Harrington, Tiger Woods, Vijay, Keny Perry.
Will the Fedex Cup change yet again for 2009? I hope so. I can't see Fedex being happy with what's going on. Or more accurately what's not going on. No buzz. No drama.
No one likes to pay millions to be irrelevant.
